BSF Deputy Inspector General KS Padhi, arrested by the CBI for his alleged involvement in a sex racket in Srinagar suspended
Media Release
Jun. 16, 2006

BSF Deputy Inspector General KS Padhi, arrested by the CBI for his alleged involvement in a sex racket in Srinagar, has been placed under suspension.

Padhi has been suspended as per service rules, which make it mandatory for an officer to be placed under suspension in case he is in police custody for more than 48 hours, a senior Home Ministry official said on Thursday.

The senior BSF official, who had joined the force in 1972, was arrested last week in connection with the sex racket.

The BSF is also withholding a police medal for which Padhi had been selected as part of the awards given on the Republic Day this year. The medal has been put on hold till the court verdict comes out.
