Magma(R) Design Automation a provider of semiconductor design software, announced its expanding presence in India

Magma(R) Design Automation Inc., a provider of semiconductor design software, announced its expanding presence in India continued today with the opening of its new office in Noida, and that the company plans expansion of its operations in Bangalore.

These additions will enable Magma to take advantage of the availability of world-class engineering talent and provide additional support to its growing customer base in India.

"An increasing number of IC design and semiconductor companies are locating in Noida," said Magma President Roy E. Jewell.

"To take advantage of this growth, Magma has opened a research and development center in Noida, and plans to double its R&D and applications engineering team in India over the next 12 to 18 months."

"Magma's long-term strategy in India is to work within the industry and with academia and the government to create a strong semiconductor market," says Anand Anandkumar, managing director of Magma Design Automation Pvt. Ltd.

"By expanding our presence in India, we''re taking an important step toward that long-term goal."
