Instead of creating new innovative tools and technologies, Indian so called body supplying ‘software’ companies can only focus on fixing American and European legacy systems. Legacy systems are old systems that no one wants to work on. These are time tested old corporate systems that really should be thrown out. But western corporate managers busy making their life easy keep using these system instead of adopting new technologies and spend billions on Indian outsourcing companies who keep putting band aids on these bleeding useless old systems. The cheap labor of Indian software professionals make it possible to keep using the legacy systems and keep fixing it at any cost. It is a good means of easy money for Indian body supplying IT companies but is a total nuisance for the western companies.
According to media reports, Global IT consulting and services provider Patni Computer Systems Ltd has launched a new solution framework, ''Legacyx'' aimed at helping insurers develop and implement their legacy renewal strategy.
"Legacyx (tm) provides insurance carriers with a pragmatic path towards renewal of their legacy environment, to keep in step with the realities of the modern insurance business," senior vice president and head of the insurance business unit at the company Bill Budde said.
