India struggles with keeping personal and corporate profit seperate from holding political office - Sonia Gandhi, Anil Ambani all fall into the new ditch of struggle

It may be the time when America, Europe and Japan take lessons on political transparency from India. In these advanced economies, influencing the political leaders with money through the lobbyists runs the countries. In India, the recent controversy over politicians holding official Indian positions also have vested interest in ‘for profit’ industry is crating a new standard and lesson for the politicians of all countries.

In the recent wake of the office of profit controversy, Anil Ambani has resigned from the Rajya Sabha. He is a member of the Uttar Pradesh Development Council.

Sonia Gandhi, India’s leader of the ruling party has already resigned from her position in the Parliament.

Ambani said, "It is my firm view that in public life one must uphold the highest standards of transparency, propriety and ethics and avoid any possibility of controversy, however remote or unlikely. Keeping in this mind, I have decided to tender my resignation from Rajya Sabha with immediate effect".
