If it is true it is the worst thing possible for India. According to the opposition party BJP, the ruling congress party is diving the Indian military into components based on region.

According to media reports, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday accused the government of trying to divide the armed forces on religious lines, saying this pointed to a disturbing trend.

"Today, I came to know from media reports that the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) has formed a committee under a retired judge of a high court or the Supreme Court to find out the number of Muslim officers in the three wings of the armed forces," BJP president Rajnath Singh told a felicitation function here.

"The Congress party has already divided the nation on the basis of religion. Now, the party is also trying to divide the soldiers of the armed forces on the basis of religion. This is a disturbing trend," he remarked.
