Indian communist chief Minister of West Bengal state provides first signal of embracing outsourcing – Chinese model ideal for Indian communists
Musharrat Habib
Sep. 25, 2005

While communists in India have no problem on importing jobs, they do not like economic reforms in the form of privatization, patent law modification and so on. The communists as a matter of fact in recent days have fought for the common people in India against the Indian oligarch driven BJP and Congress Parties. It is not true that communists do not take money from the Indian oligarchs. But the communists have fought for senior citizens, the labor and the common people. However, not all are bright for them. The atrocity in West Bengal is rampant. Communists have used votes of Islamic population to keep the power in Kerala, Tripura and West Bengal.

The communists may have for the first time understood to facilitate outsourcing, India must accelerate economic reforms rapidly.

Accepting the “inevitability of globalization,” Marxist Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said that there was no difference between the CPI-M and the state Government on the issues of economic reforms.

Bhattacharjee was interacting with the industry captains at the national council of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in the city.

“There are no differences between Writers’ Buildings and Alimuddin Street on the question of economic reforms,” Bhattacharjee said, adding that debates and airing of opinions are part of the functioning of any democratic party whether it is Leftist, Rightist or Centralist.

The Chief Minister said that there is no escaping of the inevitability of globalisation. “Globalisation is inescapable and we cannot shy away from that,” he said.
