Musharraf tries hard but fails to convince Kofi Annan on Kashmir
It was a desperate attempt by Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf but he failed. Musharraf for the first realized Pakistani tricks would not work any more on the world. Musharraf on one hand complaints on Kashmir and o the other covertly aids through a shadow ISI –Pakistani intelligence apparatus the terrorists in Kashmir.
Musharraf on Thursday [15 September] met UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the UN Headquarters and briefed him about the situation in South Asia in the context of peace process with India for resolution of issues between the two countries, including Kashmir.
During the meeting, they also discussed in detail various issues before the world body pertaining to development, conflict resolution, and agenda before the 2005 UN World Summit which concludes on Friday.
Musharraf apprised Annan about the situation in South Asia in the context of peace process with India.
The president emphasized the need for greater efforts by the world body to assist developing countries and minimize sufferings of the refugees.
He said Pakistan was still hosting over three million Afghan refugees and was assisting in the reconstruction and stabilization in Afghanistan.
