Controversial RJD MP Md Shahabuddin - Nationwide alert to arrest for illegal firearms, ammunition of Pakistan make and more
The warrants have been issued in cases relating to the recovery of illegal firearms, ammunition of Pakistan make, unaccounted foreign currency, a deer and photographs of the MP and his men with a hunted deer from his Pratappur premises during a raid on April 24.
Further tightening the noose around controversial RJD MP Md Shahabuddin, the Bihar administration today said it would sound a nationwide alert for execution of non-bailable warrants of arrest pending against him.
State Home Secretary A K Biswas told PTI today that he had received the letter from Siwan district magistrate Santosh Kumar Mal and police superintendent Sanjay Singh recommending the issuing of the alert and would forward the proposal to the chief secretary for alerting the police across the country to arrest Shahabuddin wherever he was sighted.
Chief Secretary G S Kang said he would approve the proposal of the home secretary without any delay.
“Shahabuddin has not come to Bihar since the last ten days and we are doing our job sincerely to execute the arrest warrants,” Kang said.
Once the proposal was approved by the chief secretary, copies of the warrants of arrest against the RJD MP would be faxed to the director generals of police and home secretaries of all the states seeking their help, official sources said.
The district magistrate and superintendent of police of Siwan have strongly recommended issuing a nation-wide alert to arrest Shahabuddin after a police team from the district camping in Delhi failed to locate the MP to execute the non-bailable arrest warrants pending against him.
The warrants have been issued in cases relating to the recovery of illegal firearms, ammunition of Pakistan make, unaccounted foreign currency, a deer and photographs of the MP and his men with a hunted deer from his Pratappur premises during a raid on April 24.
