Manmohan refuses to officially talk to Mush on Sarabjit issue because India and Pakistan has secretly agreed to diffuse the issue slowly
Indian media went nuts over alleged Indian spy’s life in Pakistan who according to India is totally innocent.
But silently like many other issues, India and Pakistan secretly agreed to diffuse the issue slowly. Musharraf will take care of it without showing he is too eager to take care of it!
According to media reports, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday said India had taken up with Pakistan the issue of Sarabjit Singh, who has been sentenced to death by the Pakistan Supreme Court.
"Our people have spoken to the Pakistan authorities and conveyed to them an appropriate message in this regard", Singh told reporters after releasing a book by late CPI (M) Biplab Dasgupta.
The Prime Minister, however, indicated that there was no possibility of his speaking directly to Pakistan President Pravez Musharraf on the issue.
Sarabjit, a Punjab resident was sentenced to death by the Pakistan apex court, ruling that he was a RAW agent and was involved in bomb blasts in that country. Sarabjit has been languishing in Pakistani jails for the last 15 years.
External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh had met Pakistan High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmed Khan on Thursday and formally requested Islamabad to provide consular access to Sarabjit. Pakistan on Friday accepted India's request.
