Western countries closely watching Pakistani communities for terror acts –French intelligence agency gets ready for action
Priya Surti
Aug. 8, 2005

Western countries are watching the Pakistani communities in their countries closely to receive an advanced warning of possible terror acts. A confidential report prepared by the French intelligence agency DCRG days before the July 7 London attacks said that Britain was at risk of an al Qaeda attack carried out by Pakistanis, French daily Le Figaro reported Aug. 8. The DCRG report also emphasized the need for Paris to closely monitor France's Pakistani community in order to reduce the threat of an attack on French soil. The report further said that increasing numbers of Pakistanis are transiting through France from London and South Asia and are establishing underground or official representations for leading extremist groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba.
