Lara, Kallis, Dravid, Ponting and Sehwag world's top five: International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings
India bagged 40% of the world top cricket glory. Out of the top five batsmen in the world based on International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings, two are from Indian squad - Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag.
According media reports, West Indies batsman Brian Lara has vaulted back to the top of the LG International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings - two places ahead of Rahul Dravid -- after his gallant century against Pakistan at Barbados last week.
With a total of 888 points, Lara moved ahead of South Africa's Jacques Kallis (886) and had 16 points more than Dravid (872). Australia captain Ricky Ponting has 863 points and swashbuckling Virender Sehwag is fifth with 848.
West Indies captain Shivnarine Chanderpaul was the biggest gainer as he moved up five places to eighth (804). This follows his scores of 92 and 153 not out in the Barbados Test.
England's Michael Vaughan and Marcus Trescothick made small improvements in their rankings after scoring centuries against minnows Bangladesh.
Their teammates Andrew Flintoff (716) and Matthew Hoggard (722) also made slight improvements in the bowlers'' rankings after their showing against Bangladesh in the first Test in London.
Australia's Glenn McGrath, however, remained at the top of the list with 897. Sri Lanka's Muthiah Muralitharan (834) and South Africa's Shaun Pollock (787) retained their second and thirds positions.
South Africa's Makhaya Ntini (784) grabbed the fourth position, displacing Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar (778) to fifth place.
