Thousands ready to cross into Kashmir and Northeast from Pakistan and Bangladesh through the LOC and porous border areas - Indian Army takes fast action
According to sources, there are thousands of Islamic militants ready to cause havoc in India by crossing into Indian Territory through Kashmir LOC from Pakistan and through Northeast Indian border areas from Bangladesh. These are well-trained Al-Queda linked militants.
The Indian Army is also ready to encounter them. At least two infiltrators were killed as an overnight gun battle continued on Monday between Indian Army troopers and militants along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. "A gun battle is going on along the LoC," an army source said. One soldier was also injured. According to the army, the group of infiltrators was detected and challenged late Sunday night at Tarkundi, opposite Bhimbhar Gali sector in Rajouri, about 170 km north of Jammu. Of late, the LoC sector in Rajouri district has witnessed a spurt in infiltration bids. More than 12 infiltrators have been killed this month along the LoC in the district.
Similar incidents are being reported in West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya borders also.
