Can Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Kuala Lumpur prevent match fixing and betting on cricket?
Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is meeting Kuala Lumpur. One of the biggest questions in front of the council is the fact that in many Asian cricket matches, the betting market predicted the outcomes. Can they do anything to stop it?
Several issues will be discussed, including the itinerary for the Indian cricket team's tour to Pakistan in January-February 2006. Informed sources said that the Indian team is expected to arrive in Pakistan on or around January 2 and complete its tour by February 15. Both sides are likely to play three Tests and five One-day Internationals. The official also confirmed that shortly after hosting India, PCB has plans to stage the Asia Cup from February 18 with the Indians staying back to compete in the tournament along with Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and associate qualifiers Nepal and UAE. It has been suggested that the Test matches will be played in Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore while smaller centres like Peshawar and Sheikhupura would host the one dayers.
