Flushing the Islamic militants out – US offers help to Bangladesh – will Bangladesh really do it?
It is very well known that Bangladesh and Philippines are Al-Queda’s next Afghanistan – the training grounds for harboring Islamic militants for worldwide attack. American military has offered the Bangladesh Government all necessary help to flush out these militants. But the million dollar question is does Bangladeshi Government have the will to do it!
U.S. Adm. William J. Fallon, head of the U.S. Pacific Command, told Bangladeshi Foreign Minister M. Morshed Khan on April 17th that Washington is prepared to help Bangladesh with technology and expertise in order to combat international terrorist groups that might consider turning Bangladesh into a staging area to launch attacks, a Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry official said on April 18th.
According to international think tanks, Bangladesh has learnt from Pakistan the best way to deal with Bush Administration. They will follow the same model as Mushattaf. The model is simple, hide the militant infrastructure, catch a few small fishes, be as friendly with the Americans as possible, show superficial progress and get all the aids, arms and whatever else possible from them.
