Al-Queda reports of Iraqi Government propaganda to create an excuse to attack Sunnis
Is it another Al-Queda tactic or new Iraqi Government method taking revenge against the Sunnis?
A joint task force composed of U.S. troops and Iraqi security forces on April 16th mounted a rescue mission to secure the release of some 150 Shiite hostages that Sunni militants have threatened to kill in Iraq. Interim National Security Minister of State Kassim Daoud told al Arabiyah satellite television channel said coalition forces that are conducting raids to search for the hostages have secured Madaen, the town where the hostages were taken.
A statement posted on an Islamist Web site on April 17th by Al-Qaeda in Iraq claimed that a hostage crisis in Madaen, located near Baghdad, was "fabricated" to give Iraqi and U.S. forces an excuse to assault the town and attack Sunni Muslims.
Madeen is a Sunni town and the present Iraqi Government has little Sunni participation. May be it is time for Kurd leader Talibani the new President of the coalition Government to make a statement if they found the Shiite hostages.
Al-Queda will take an upper hand in Iraq if the report from them is true. The last thing Iraqi coalition Government wants now is a Al-Queda- Sunni alliance starting a civil war against the current Government led by Kurd leader Talibani. WORLD ARTICLES
