India's Infosys yr to March net profit rises 52 pct on outsourcing boom

Infosys Technologies said its net profit for the year to March rose 52 pct as more companies from abroad outsourced work to India.
Infosys, the first of India's large software companies to report quarterly earnings, said its net profit rose to 18.9 bln rupees in the year ended March from 12.4 bln a year earlier, as revenue increased 47 pct to 71.3 bln rupees (1.6 bln usd).
The company said it expects to cross the 2-bln-usd revenue mark in the current year to March 2006.
