The video commemorated a 2009 attempted assault on Saudi Interior Minister They threatened to launch new attacks on Saudi royal family members in a video message posted on the Internet Oct. 5.

Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz in which AQAP militants attempted to attack his plane with a surface-to-air missile as it flew into the Yemeni capital of Sanaa. In the video, AQAP militants said they had also planned to shell Aziz's welcoming ceremony at the airport. AQAP commander Qassem al-Rimi and assistant commander Said al-Shihri spoke in the video, saying the strikes would be in retaliation for Saudi attacks.
