BJP on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked him to call an all-party meeting to discuss the situation in the Valley. Urging the PM to act quickly and decisively to restore peace in the Valley, the main Opposition told him that the Omar Abdullah government had become "extremely unpopular".

BJP leaders said the PM assured them that a political package, as sought by Omar, was not on the agenda, as the priority now was to restore peace. Singh also favoured the idea of an all-party meet on the issue, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said.
