Left parties are gearing to move their own motion against him on the IPL and phone tapping controversies. BJO has already made it clear to the world that they oppose PM Manmohan on this issue.
Describing the IPL as an organised form of gambling permitted by the Centre in violation of income tax laws, the left parties are on the move to question the honesty of Indian PM.
According to media reports, For, the Prime Minister did not take Parliament into confidence while rejecting the Opposition demand for constituting a Joint Parliamentary Committee to probe these two issues, CPI leader in the Lok Sabha Gurudas Dasgupta told journalists here on Saturday.
Mr. Dasgupta said the Central Bureau of Investigation could not be trusted to do a fair job of inquiring into the allegations of corruption in the Indian Premier League, as the CBI was a tool in the hands of the ruling party.
Describing the IPL as an organised form of gambling permitted by the Centre in violation of income tax laws, he expressed dismay at the I-T Department seeking 21 months to assess the tax liability of the IPL.
The standing committee of Parliament on finance, of which he is a member, received this reply in writing from the department.
