The Islamic rulers of Kashmir State shamlessly used dilly-dallying tactics on the construction of Kora Pani Bridge over river Chenab. Common people of Doda rises against local authorities.

Hundreds of people from several villages of district Doda have decided to organise a massive protest demonstration by blocking the Jammu-Doda National Highway.

According to media reports, The Kora Pani bridge was totally submerged by the discharge of water from Baglihar dam, totally cutting off the people from Panchayat Halqa Gagla, Samthi, and Kotli of Tehsil and forcing them to cross the fiery river by simple wooden boats. Two and a half years back when three children from these villages drowned in river Chenab while coming back from school, the people demanded reconstruction of the bridge. However, despite assurances, the work on the bridge is still incomplete.

The Islamic rulers of the State of Kashmir must understand that they need to respect Hindus of Jammu.
