Bush faces in Georgia what he did in Iraq except that Russians did not restore to lying to the UN and the world
What goes up comes down and some times they come down hard enough to really embarrass the bullies. What Bush did in 2003 has started biting back in 2008 in the form of Russian invasion of Georgia.
Bush talked tough to Putin on reversing the course. But he himself set the standard of attacking small helpless nations in the name of weapons of mass destruction and what not.
Instigating Georgia against Russia was not a very prudent idea with a thinned out Military capability because of a nuisance war in Iraq.
Russia's "brutal escalation" of attacks against the former Soviet republic of Georgia has jeopardized Russia's relationship with the United States and European nations, President Bush told reporters Monday after returning from his trip to Asia.
"Such an action is unacceptable in the 21st century," he said.
Just like the Russians and the French did nothing to confront America in Iraq, the Europeans and the Americans will do nothing to defend Georgia.
Bush’s international policy is in diaster as Russia starts mocking him and his Military might. Russia on hand was telling him that they will ceasefire and on the ground and air they were devastating the Georgian defense infrastructure.
It is Bush who showed that ‘Might is Right.’ in 2003. Now Russia is saying – yes that is correct ‘Might is Right’ and that is even more Right for those who have abundance of oil and nukes.
The same Bush who disregarded the European opinions during his Iraq invasion is now trying to pursue tyhe same Europeans to help stop Russians from running over Georgia. America may now say it is an European problem and America has nothing to do with Georgia.
Every nation has the right to coexist with larger superpower. Every nation has the right to differ in opinion. It is true for Iraq and true for Georgia. Neither America or Russia have the birth right to become regional bullies.
