BJP demands fresh election, UPA alliance braking up as AGP decides to vote against the Government
Juhi Singhal
Jul. 5, 2008

The UPA alliance led by the Congress party is breaking up very fats. Those in the alliance have decided to stay away from the alliance as Congress party is seen as getting defeated all over the country for its questionable international policies and the domestic hyperinflation in essential commodities and food.

The Assam Gana Parisad (AGP) has decided to vote against the Congress led UPA. Other UPA alliance members are also skeptical of the Congress party.

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Pary (BJP) has demanded fresh general elections in the country, claiming the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government has lost its mandate in the wake of the Left front's threat of withdrawal of support from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government over the India-US nuclear deal.

Addressing a packed press conference at BJP's national headquarters at Ashoka Road in New Delhi, BJP's prime ministerial candidate and senior party leader LK Advani said: "This government has no right to continue in office now. Let the country decide afresh."
