Even with SP support to Sonia Gandhi Karat may defeat the India-US nuclear deal
Balaji Reddy
Jul. 4, 2008

The Samajwadi Party’s public endorsement on Friday of the India-US civil nuclear deal as one “in national interest” enables the Manmohan government to go to the IAEA with an easy mind. But the cloud is deeper for George Bush and Manmohan Singh that it seems.
According to the Left Front, the battle for Indian national interest is between George bush and his surrogate Indian congress party and the true Indian nationalists. SP, Congress and the UPA coalition are slaves of CIA and George Bush. They sold Indian national interest for nothing to gain personal wealth and prestige.
Interestingly, even with SP’s support, the UPA coalition will fall short of close to 15 votes. Manmohan Singh is finding real difficulty in finding those 15 votes to close the gap.
Marxists leader Karat is determined to expose the Indian PM Manmohan Singh and his arrogance in selling Indian national interests to the American neo cons. He may be able to snub the Government of India down even with SP agreeing to share the benefits of the del with Sonia Gandhi.
