Iran jittery about protecting its nuclear assets – seizes Saudi fishing boats with Indian crew in international water suspecting American special operations forces

The employers and employees should have known better. The fishing boats from Saudi Arabia were confident that they were in international water. But they underestimated the jittery Iranians in nervous moods. They chased these Saudi fishing boats and captured the crew thinking they were special operations forces from America monitoring the sensitive first nuclear power plant.

The Bushehr sea-guard patrols of Iran claimed that they stopped four foreign fishing boats on the strength of border violation and illegal fishing on Iranian waters. Saudi sources say they were clearly in international waters.

The documents of the boats were confiscated and the vessels are being held in Bushehr's naval police headquarters in southern Iran.
