Indian politics plunges into uncertainty as Mulayam meets Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh and declares approval on nuclear deal
Sudhir Chadda
Jul. 4, 2008

Well educated Indians believe that the nuclear deal with America is beneficial to India. But the communists are eager to see India make India stay behind the Chinese Military ambitions. The civilian nuclear deal will perhaps help India is proceeding forward with the use of use of plutonium and uranium for military use.

The imported technologies from France, Russia and America can provide energy independence from the Middle Eastern hydrocarbons. India can build as many Military nuclear reactors as she wished without commingling the fuels of the civilian and military reactors.

India specific IAEA safeguards should be made public. America should come with the truth about Hyde Act so people of India and United States can understand the impact of the nuclear deal.

After former Indian President’s suggestion, Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav is all set to affirm his party's support to the government. They will try to support the Congress Government as the Left parties withdraw their support.

But Indian politics for the rest of the year will chaotic at the least. BJP and its NDA alliance will try and push for early election.

Indian politics plunges into uncertainty as Mulayam meets Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh on nuclear deal. He has some hidden demands that are minor in nature. The negotiations are still on for the removal of the Finance Minister Chidammbaram.

Can Manmohan Singh Government really survive without the support of the Left? They can get the nuke deal okayed but nothing more. Shiv Sena, Sp, and others will oppose them on all other issues, as Left parties will join the opposition. BJP will push for early election and sacking the parliament by the President.
