McCain and Obama both are Latino friendly – whom can Latinos trust?

approached both Senators McCain and Obama to come and speak at the annual conference of NALEO in the Renaissance Hotel near the White House.

"This election could well come down to how many Latinos turn out to vote. And I''m proud that my campaign is working hard to register more Latinos and bring them into the political process.

"Because I truly believe that if we work together and fight together and stand together this fall, then you and I together will change the political map from top to bottom," Obama said.

McCain on the issues he has been pushing throughout the week: energy solutions and the lagging economy.

The dilemma for the latino voters is simple. McCain represnts a party that typically has spread hatred against the latinos and called for stricter immigration control. At the same time Republican small business owners have illegally employedf the undocumented latinos for lower wages and work that American do not like to do.

Obama is supported heavily by the black community. The realtionshipbetween the blacks and hispanics is not that great competition for jobs takes place. Some latinos are wary of the blacks. Some blaxk community activists are aware of the animosity of the latinos against the blasks. Simply put the chemistry is missing.

Who can latonos trust? Who can show the l;eadership to bring the latinos into the main stream America?

Can John McCain risk the consevating right wing 30% George Bush vote by being tolerant of Latinos issues? Can he really provide the undocumented workers the green cards and citizenships? Will he able to reform the Republican party?

On the other hand, can Obama provide the leadership to real equal opportunities to the latons and blacks? Can he lead and craete a remarkable coalition of latinos and blacks that can explify race relations in America? Latinos will make their own decisions. One thing is for certain,like bnever before, they will influence the November Presidential election in America.
