Thanks to the brainchild of A P J Abdul Kalam - India will launch global satellite for students to carry on experiments and learn
Juhi Singhal
Jun. 26, 2008

India will be one of the pioneer countries that bring space closer to students for experimenting and learning. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is planning to launch a dedicated satellite for scientific experiments pursued by the undergraduate and post-graduate students from various universities in India. Announcing this project in Bangalore on Thursday, ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair said that the launch of this satellite is expected sometimes next year on-board a polar satellite launch vehicle (PSLV) sometimes next year.

One must thank India’s former president and father of Indian space research A P J Abdul Kalam for this project that can change scientific and technical education bottom up.

The launch vehicle will carry the auxiliary satellite with scientific experiments developed by the undergraduate and post-graduate students from various universities in India, Russia and other countries. Apart from the payload (auxiliary satellite), the launch vehicle will also carry a mini remote sensing satellite.
