What is the secret to this super efficient nuclear fusion reactor. There are two questions that is unanswered about the Sun of ours. why the sun's outer atmosphere, or corona, is about 2 million degrees Fahrenheit hotter than its surface, and why the solar wind -- streams of electrically charged particles that permeate the solar system does not have any organizing force.

NASA is determined to find the answers to these two questions. Believe it or not, NASA is planning to send a probe to Sun in 2015 that will operate in a temperature of greater than 2700 degree F.

The mission is called Solar Probe Plus that will plunge deeply into the sun's atmosphere. NASA is still struggling with the fact that the probe will be subjected to radiation level never imagined before.
