Playful Lara Dutta plays with mood in selecting her sizzle and wardrobe
Lara Dutta is moody. People around her say she is great when mood is on. She is one of the best of Bollywood. But when it comes to mood swings with sizzle, she becomes even more sensual and sexy, say Bollywood experts.
According to a recent media release, Lara Dutta likes being unpredictable. Contrary to popular belief, sexy Lara insists that off-screen she likes to wear clothes that flatter her mood and she doesn’t blindly ape the latest fashion trend. In fact if you believe her, Lara would rather break rules.
Clothes maketh a woman: “I belong to the classic school of dressing. To me simple is splendid. I love multi-colours. Being an Aries, fire colours work well for me. I am partial to vibrant hues.”
Fetishes anyone?: “I am crazy about belts and shoes. I believe that one good accessory can enhance your entire look. I own 900 pairs of shoes! It’s kind a crazy but I can’t resist them. If I spot a good pair, I simply go berserk. I have to buy it irrespective of the price tag!
The screen image: “I think I am lucky to have debuted with Andaaz. It offered me the scope of sampling with an Indian and western look. In the first half, I went all glam wearing corsets, skirts and trousers while the later half had me in a Hindustani avatar. That was pretty interesting. I also liked my look as Kanchi in Mumbai Se Aya Mera Dost. This film rubbished assumptions that I couldn’t look Indian.
In the recent Elaan I had to look sensuous. In Elaan you saw me sport a lot of winter wear. In Kaal, I am a trendy young woman, so my look is different there. Eventually you got to have a definite sense of style. I like to believe I have one.” Fitness and health: “I am a big foodie. But I don’t miss my exercise spells. I love gymming.”
Things I adore: “Kelly Dorjee. He’s my anchor. The one woman I don’t mind losing Kelly to would be Catherine Zeta Jones. But the point remains, would I want him back.”
