It’s a mystery star - bloated but strangely cold. The researchers from the Max-Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy are using the Europe's Very Large Telescope to observe it unfold in front their own eyes.

The red super giant in a nearby galaxy, is actually about half as massive as what astronomers previously thought, which explains its cool temperature.

Astronomers had assumed that a spherical cloud of gas and dust partially hid the entire star, and adjusted their calculations of the star's brightness and mass by overestimating from what they could see.

The Very Large Telescope in Chile found the star was ringed by a doughnut-shaped torus of expelled gas and dust.

Some scientists now say it is dominated by strange extraterrestrial life forms. Star based life forms are theoretically impossible. But this star is cold and perfect for ion-based life forms.

Plasma physics confirms the possibility of the existence of these ion-based life forms in stars. The life forms are intelligent and slightly more advanced than that of ours.

Ionized life forms are also present in the earth. These are primarily undetected by our primitive technologies.
