Congress Party of India scrambling together a face saving strategy in Nepal after the stunning victory of the Communist Party of Nepal – Maoists
Ravi Solanki
Apr. 20, 2008

It will be a strong reminder to all who forget to count the power of common people in a democracy. India and in specific the Congress Party of Sonia Gandhi made the biggest political blunder. They never saw the Parchanda wave in Nepal uprooting all the norms and throwing the King against the wall scrambling to escape the country with grace.

Maoist chief Prachanda on Sunday met Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukherjee apparently to discuss a "graceful exit" for King Gyanendra after the party won the landmark constituent assembly election.

India is stunned. Prachanda has got an invitation from the External Affairs Minister to visit India, Maoist sources said. The date for the visit has not yet been fixed and the party's central committee will take up the matter, party insiders said.

India now has to deal with Parchanda who will be influenced by the Chinese after the Olympics. It will interesting to see how the Congress Party of India deals with Parchanda and the CPN-Maoists after a total political miscalculation and blunders.
