Janssen Pharmaceutica, the pharmaceutical group of Johnson & Johnson is planning to setup R&D facilities and manufacting infrastructure in India.
Chairman and Managing Director of Janssen Pharmaceutica, Ajit Shetty said "The areas of drug discovery, synthesis, clinical research, chemical manufacture and formulations are all being considered,"
Janssen-Cilag, a subsidiary of the company is already performing R&D activities in India with 22 people in Mumbai. The company is looking for partners to establish manufacturing facilities. The probable sites are Aurangabad, Mumbai and Bangalore.
