Mar. 25, 2008

Gavaskar is set to remain as the ICC Cricket Committee Chairman.

The governing body asked the former Indian captain to give up his other job of a commentator and columnist, which is in "direct conflict" with his duties in the ICC.

Gavaskar will meet ICC CEO Malcolm Speed this week this week in Dubai and reconcile the two issues. The deal that is working is as follows. ICC will set forth certain guidelines for Gavaskar to follow in his media career. Gavaskar will follow the same and remain as the ICC Cricket Committee Chairman.
