Australia India cricket series ends in 2-1 for Aussie victory – India played cricket Australia showed arrogance and meanness
Partha Chatterjee
Jan. 28, 2008

The series ended. Australia won series 2-1 and retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy which they won last in 2004. India ended on a score of 269/7, before the captains called the game off. Virender Sehwag was the man of the day for India as he cracked a superb 151 to show Australians that cricket can be played as cricket – you do not have to make it politics.

The series will be remembered as the nastiest Aussie performance as cricket. This team under Ponting is ready to do anything to win. Influencing umpires, name calling, using the pacers to bodyline the batsmen, creating tremendous psychological pressures are some of the techniques Ponting and company has delivered to arena of cricket.

The country that boasts player like Don Bradman is perhaps ashamed when it look at the mirror. Some say the world has changed and so does cricket.
