Jan. 1, 2008

A world recession is in the cards. The Asian stocks are opening with massive losses in the New Year. According to many financial think tanks, the stock markets around the world can crash world wide in the first week of January 2008. That can be very bearish for the whole year.
South Korea lowered its forecast for growth this year and Singapore's economy unexpectedly contracted last quarter. Singapore, gross domestic product shrank an annualized 3.2 percent after adjusting for inflation, the first decline in 15 quarters.
The Nikkei is also poised to open lower. The grim outlook on global stocks is poised to extend into US and Europe as the day progresses. The world economies are expected to register slower growth initially and eventually negative growth by end of 2008.
