India ready to snatch series from Ponting –it is about time for India to establish as cricket supreme
Ajit Parker
Dec. 21, 2007

The warm up match is on. India is settling down in Australia to create a history. This is perhaps the biggest challenge Aussies and Ponting are facing in Cricket. They are nervous. They know they face a team India that is comprised of young energy and heavy end experience.

A team where captaincy rotates with out politics, a team with virtually no coach but performs fantastic is always difficult to beat. Indian cricket team now is programmed to win. They play as a team. They dream as a team.

The way India handled Pakistan, gives a big headache to the Aussies especially Ponting. There is one in three chance that Aussies will perform miserably in the series against Indians. Indians are also eager to throw Ponting back the misbehavior and all anti-India clamor.

The spirit is similar to that of Kapil Dev’s team that won World Cup.

India lost Sourav Ganguly (59) early and reached 133 for four during a brief session on day two as rain continued to plague their warm-up match against Victoria here on Friday. At the warm up match I had the opportunity to talk to team members of India. They are all ready to take on the Australians.
