In a surprise move Musharraf agrees with West to have Bhutto as the next Prime Minister of Pakistan
Sonia Chopra
Dec. 15, 2007

Believe it or not, Pakistan will be ruled by Musharraf as president and Benazir Bhutto as the Prime Minister. Musharraf has given the first signal that he has agreed to have Bhutto as the PM.

He is reluctant to succumb to American pressures. But in the end he will work with Bhutto who the western world sees as the representative of democracy in Pakistan.

President Pervez Musharraf has said that he was ready to ‘work’ with Opposition leader Benazir Bhutto if she wins the January vote but remained non-committal on lifting a ban on her becoming the Premier for the third time.

What Musharrf plans to do is unclear. But international think tanks believe that Bhutto will become the PM but with a hanging ‘chad’ - a ban on her becoming the Premier for the third time. Musharraf will try and control Bhutto. If she does not obey, she will be thrown out on the ground she cannot become premier for the third time.

"We will decide on that once they win the vote," he told The Wasington Post and Newsweek in an interview to be published on Sunday.
