The biggest foreign policy mistake of Bush Administration was to hand over 100 million dollars to Musharraf in securing Pakistani nukes
Tania Mukhia
Nov. 18, 2007

The General took $100 million from American tax payers by convincing Bush administration that he is a real friend of the United States and the peace loving world.

Over the past six years, the Bush administration has spent almost $100 million on a highly classified program to help Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf secure his country's nuclear weapons.

The aid, buried in secret portions of the federal budget, paid for the training of Pakistani personnel in the US and the construction of a nuclear security training center in Pakistan, a facility that American officials say is nowhere near completion, even though it was supposed to be in operation this year.

Most of the money actually went to the personal Swiss Bank accounts of Musharraf and other Military leaders of Pakistan.

Helicopters, night-vision goggles, nuclear detection equipment was given to Pakistan to help secure its nuclear material, its warheads, and the laboratories that were the site of the worst known case of nuclear proliferation in the atomic age.

Nothing much was done.

Now Mushrraf has started playing the nuclear card and international think tanks believe the General is signaling a possibility of nuclear blackmail to the world.
