India is a different country that it was in 1960s. Most of the middle class families have someone in America or Europe. The smell prosperity, free economy and financial independence. They are educated, hardworking and ambitious. They know America is final and strategic superpower. They want to be an ‘Indian American’ rather than just ‘Indian’.

However, majority of Indians live in the countryside. The standard of living has improved but not dramatically. The antipathy for Americans is high in the countryside. Indians who are below the middle class level see no gains from American influence. They few Americans and the Europeans as potential trade enemies because of injustice in farm trade rules in World Trade Organization.

Neither BJP not the Congress party did much for the poor Indians that form real India. Each of the party went to New Delhi and tried to bring in American and European money to fuel India’s growing budget and trade deficits. The middle class and oligarchs are happy. The rest of the country is indifferent and many unhappy. The number of farmers committing suicide in various parts of the country is increasing exponentially.

The communists called ‘Left’ parties see a golden opportunity. For the first time they find common Indians looking at them. They are going ahead with their crusade against America. Yesterday, senior CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechuri made it clear in Indian Institute of management, Ahmedabad, “The Left parties have raised objections to the nuclear deal in its present form and discussion are going on in the committee of the UPA and the Left to resolve them.”

Some international think tanks believe, India under the influence of these communists will come back to the table and ask America to further adjust the agreement in India’s favor. It will be unprecedented but interesting to see how America plays the game at that point of time.

The tussel between India’s elite and the rest is clear. No one is watching another component in India that is small but most influential. It is the Indian oligarchs that control India. Every political party, most of the judges, the ministers, the bureaucrats, the police, even sections of the Indian Military is under their control. They are the industrialists. They are the outsourcing landlords of India that sell Indian talents cheap to the western world. Common Indians are slave under their control. They even control the communists through money and influence.
