Apr. 2, 2007

The Japanese economy is strong according to the Tankan, Japan's most closely watched business survey. The Japanese companies plan to invest at a faster pace than economists expected, indicating they''re upbeat about the outlook for growth at home and abroad.
But Nikkei is going down. What can be the reason for Nikkei to go down when the Japanese economy is going to go through the roof? Is it an April’s fool paradox?
Some financial think tanks believe Japanese economy is in a cyclical up trend within a secular down trend. That means the deflation is not over yet. The current rise in economy and some signs of inflation will be short lived. The main long term trend is deflationary and Japan will face depression as US economy tanks by end of this year.
The Nikkei is falling further. The effect on the Dow from global deflation driven depression is severe.
