Cisco ready for third phase of expansion in India to promote wordwide oursourcing but here are the problems
Harish Baliga
Dec. 6, 2006

"India is the most interesting of all the countries undergoing a transition across the world. We are working on how best to base our entire global strategy out of India. We want to build global innovation out of the Bangalore centre. After we brought all the functions to India in the second phase of our growth, we want to build the strategy for globalisation from this very country," Chambers said addressing a gathering of about 300 CEOs.

However, international think tanks believe World Trade Organization (WTO) failure will haunt Cisco's ambition. Cisco is moving into China and India rapidly without much of an exit strategy. The motive comes from desperation. It is good for Indian economy in short run but in the long run it is bad for both India Inc. and Cisco.
