Midterm election results – the Dollar will strengthen and Gold will decline
Marla Guthrie
Nov. 5, 2006

The outcome of the midterm election can have a serious effect on the currencies especially US Dollar and the Gold. The Democrats will win the House by a very slight margin. The Republicans will hold the Senate by a hair. The defeat is for extreme right and extreme left. The America is going back to where it should be – the center.
The biggest push from moderate Democrats and Republicans will be to reduce the budget deficit and the trade deficit. Both will be good for US Dollar and bad for Gold.
However the fundamentals of Gold is better than what it will take to drive it back into a bear market. Most likely Gold will more slowly than before. Commodities will sit for while the Dollar will start rising against Euro and Yen.
