There are more than 8000 hedge funds and some of them are as risky as the whims of their managers.
Amaranth lost close to $6.5 Billion in assets by betting the wrong side of the natural gas market. The person responsible for the loss have left the company. The investors wonder when they will get back their investment capital or whatever is left.
One good news - Amaranthhas hired hired Fortress Investment Group LLC to help sell assets. That will help them to return the clients'' money as much as possible.
