Consumer spending in France made its highest jump in seven years during the month of August as unemployment fell, France's National Institute for Statistics and Economic Studies reported Sept. 22. Purchases of manufactured goods, such as clothing and electronics, which account for 15 percent of the economy, have experienced 3.3 percent growth since July. Leather, textiles, household goods and the automobile industry have also been affected, experiencing tremendous.
