Dubai channels its oil money into Aerospace industry
Babu Ghanta
Sep. 8, 2006

The problem lies in the fact that Dubai lacks Aerospace engineering talent. They cannot hire Indians because Indian engineers are busy servicing American companies in IT sectors and call center operations. However, Zurich-based SR Technics was a good target for the emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
In recent days the emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have focused on aerospace engineering knowing very well that days of easy oil money is coming to an end.
However, international think tanks belive, these are just investment stunts and may even be actually money losing items. Lack Aerospace talent and lack of infrastructure and technical reasearch make it impossible for emirates of Dubai and Abu Dhabi to take any lead in Aerospace engineering.
