South African captain Graeme Smith feeling better after the car accident in Kolkata

South African captain Graeme Smith was walking towards the team hotel after practice when the chauffeur of his car unintentionally drove over his right toe, witnesses said.

Sources say, Graeme Smith doing much better though it is not certain if he would be able to play the second test. The India team, manager and skipper sent good wishes for speedy recovery.

Many in Kolkata is praying for Smith so that they see the legendary player in action.
The x-ray has revealed no bone damage, but only bruising to the tissue on the right toe," South Africa media manager Gerald de Kock told reporters. 

"Graeme was very disappointed and surprised at the incident. We'll decide tomorrow if he can play, depending on how he is feeling," he added. 

The second Test is scheduled to start on Sunday, when South African will be attempting to achieve the rare feat of back-to-back test series wins on Indian soil. 

The first Test ended in a draw in Kanpur on Wednesday. 

Vice-captain Boeta Dippenaar will lead the side if Smith is unable to play.
