The softer Priyanka ready for more!

Priyanka Gandhi speaks her heart out in Amethi! In a guest house in Munshiganj, Amethi, she speaks in an exclusive close door interview. The party workers have worked so hard in spite of all threats from goons, she says. “I love my family and kids but I am ready for the next big one!” Priyanka is back in brother Rahul's constituency after four days recovering from viral fever in Delhi.

”Why are you so passive this time?” “This time it is a transformation stage. We will do better but no parties will really win. There will be a decisive election in two years from today and we the young ones will come in full force that time.” she says with that incandescent smile.

”Do you like to be the Prime Minister?” “Only if that helps the Parampara – taking mother India to her appropriate level in the world – yes the taking India to the superpower level.”

”Are you proud of your grand mother, great grand father, father and mother?” “Of course! They brought India to its current level and now it is the time for us to take India to a level from where she can lead the world!”

Priyanka, the softer and gentler India waits for her time to show the world the meaning of love, sympathy and courage in the middle of nasty hooliganism going on in the world.

Downstairs, hundreds of supporters waits - women in kaleidoscope nylon saris out in front, men wearing party badges and scarves decorated with portraits of Indira, Rajiv, Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka strutting behind - chant slogans, clap and listen to 8-year old Sudha Bharti, imported from Delhi's Chandni Chowk, belt out her anti-BJP speech in a child's wee voice.

She's spent time with workers, distributed kits to Congress polling agents ("It's a closed door thing, you'd better not be there. In fact, I don't want our polling agents to be identified early because they'll be intimidated by goons.")

And now, she's in a first-floor room of the Congress office in Rae Bareli, waiting to go on a padayatra through the town.
